COLOURFUL CENTRE IS A FEAST FOR THE EYES - Cawston Community Centre

A STRIKING new Community centre doesn’t just deliver a valuable local amenity, it’s also a stylish addition to a Rugby Village.

The Parish Council’s £800,000 centre combines bold colours with eye-catching brick patterns.

Rugby-based HB Architects’ design echoes the surrounding contemporary Cawston housing estate and nearby landmark buildings.

“The brickwork is a modern interpretation of the traditional artisan polychromatic brickwork of the area, notably William Butterfield’s Rugby School,” explains Adam Greatrex of HB Architects.

Traditional stock bricks are carefully arranged to reflect the scale of the building, while modern, smooth blue engineering bricks provide a contrasting backdrop along the central spine walls.

“The combination of the colourful render and patchwork brickwork provides a vibrant and exciting façade, creating a presence worthy for a building of local importance,” adds Adam.
